“How it works and How to use it”

            Recover™ Foal Paste is an innovative nutritional supplement administered to foals with loose stools or diarrhea. 

                How does Recover™ work?  A healthy large intestine is essential for optimum water absorption, and the unique combination of nutrients in Recover™ Foal Paste can help restore proper colon health. The gut of a healthy foal has a very complex and crucial bacterial population.  If this bacterial population gets out of balance due to foal heat scours, sickness, diet, or antibiotic therapy; moderate to severe diarrhea can result.  Currently, treatment involves the use of: fibers, probiotics (active bacterial cultures) and pharmaceuticals.  Yet, a new class of products, called prebiotics, are gaining popularity.  Prebiotics are defined as any product that promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria (Lactobacillus) while limiting the growth of harmful bacteria (E. coli, Salmonella, or Clostridia).  One main prebiotic source is fructo-oligosaccharide (FOS) derived from chicory root, Jerusalem artichoke and onion.  Fructo-oligosaccharide is a non-digestible sugar, which can be fermented by, and provide food for, the beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract. 

            Recover™ Foal Paste incorporates fermentable fibers including fructo-oligosaccharide, active dried yeast and apple pectin.  This blend of nutrients is used to control or prevent the onset of diarrhea and scours.  Recover™ Foal Paste is packaged in 50 gm tubes for easy use and application.  

Recover Basics & Usage

• Prebiotics are non-digestible sugars which can be used for food by the beneficial bacteria population in the equine intestinal tract

• Dosage for Recover™ Foal Paste is One tube/100 lbs of body weight/day.  Continue the use of

       Recover™ Foal Paste for 5 days after the stools return to normal consistency.

RECOVER™ – FOAL PASTE 

A blend of fermentable fiber, active dried yeast and apple pectin.  To be fed to equines as a source of fermentable fiber and supplemental nutrients.

Guaranteed Analysis:

      Saccharomyces Cerevisiae              7.5 x 10⁸ CFU/gram     

Ingredients:  Corn Oil, Fructooligolsaccharide (Dried Chicory Root), Primary Dried Yeast, Sodium Aluminosilicate, Apple Pectin, Active Dried Yeast (Saccharomyces Cerevisiae), Poly Sorbate 80 and Sorbic Acid.

Feeding Directions: 

• Administer at the rate of 50 grams (1 tube) per 100 lbs. body weight per day. 

Continue to administer at the daily-recommended amount for 5 days after stool returns to normal consistency.
